We are reminded that the church is a family, and as such we are to treat one another with the mutual respect that should exist in our homes. In 1 Timothy 5:1-2, Paul instructs young Timothy how he, as a pastor, should relate to the various members of his congregation. The encouragement afforded to each member should be that of a parent or sibling. This picture of community reflects how God works His grace through His people.
