Matthew 28:16-20 - The Incarnation and The Church

In this message, Rev. Mike Wenzler looks at Matthew 28:16-20. The Incarnation of Christ has many implications for the individual Christian as well as the Church universal. Though Christ is not currently with us as He once was, He imparts to His church a mission and a promise. In fact, the mission of the Church hinges on the promise: Christ is with His people.

Matthew 9:1-8 - Real Authority

In this sermon, Rev. Mike Wenzler looks at Matthew 9:1-8 where we come face to face with real authority; we come face to face with Jesus. We all know what it's like to exercise authority as well as submit to authority. This morning we see how Jesus demonstrates his authority in the lives of His people. Colossians 1:17-20 - What Jesus Gives You for Christmas

In this sermon, Rev. Mike Wenzler continues our Advent series. Life doesn't function on its own. The earth doesn't spin by its own volition. Human lives aren't left up to random chance. The church was not an entity born of human volition and desire. Salvation is not achieved by mere human effort. In Colossians 1:17-20, Paul teaches us that Jesus is the Lord of heaven, earth, and everything in-between. What should we really want for Christmas? Jesus.

John 5:1-16 Jesus, The Law-Breaker

In this sermon, Rev. Mike Wenzler shows that John 5:1-16 outlines the healing of a crippled man, the confrontation the healed man has with the Jewish leaders, and finally the call that Jesus issues on the healed man's life. Jesus perfectly demonstrates care for both the body and the soul of man, while also challenging the sin and brokenness in the world.

John 3:9-15 - That's Just the Way It Is

In this sermon, Rev. Mike Wenzler looks at John 3:9-15, where the dialogue between Nicodemus and Jesus turns into a monologue; Jesus teaches and Nicodemus listens. Nicodemus wanted to know "how can these things be" and Jesus will tell him, though our Lord's answer is not what Nicodemus expected. Part of the answer includes mention of an Old Testament story of Moses and the Israelites as they wandered through the wilderness.

Luke 2:22-35 - The Wait Is Over

In this sermon, Rev. Mike Wenzler looks at Luke 2:22-35 and Isaiah 60:1-3 in conjunction with the Christ Candle. The salvation Jesus brought is played out in His presentation in the Temple. There His conformity to the Law and His complete revelation calls us to account. The music of this season began on a note of reflection in anticipation of the celebration of Christ’s birth. Just as Israel longed for redemption in the midst of darkness, so the advent songs reflected longing for the need of deliverance and redemption. As we moved closer to Christmas Day, the music focused more on the joy and hope realized by Christ’s birth, the deliverance and hope that it brings.
