Pursuing Holiness That Comes Through Grace | Nehemiah 10:28-31

In this message, we continue the sermon series in Nehemiah looking at 10:28-31. Holiness is one of those church words that comes with confusion or even baggage. For example, sometimes it (wrongly) is said, "Only the really good people are holy." Such statements leave us feeling guilty because we know that we do not measure up. The text from Nehemiah shows us that holiness is not doing more for God but instead pursuing the holy God who makes us more and more like him.

The Renewal from Confession | Nehemiah 9:16-17

We continue the sermon series in Nehemiah looking at chatper 9 focusing on verses 16-17. The wall was rebuilt and now the people is being rebuilt. The started with the returning to the Word of God and now they are living out the Word of God which calls them to confession. Confession is a humbly act, a turning away from self and to God, knowing that He is a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, who will never forsake His people.

The Power of the Word - Nehemiah 8:1-8

In this message, we continue the sermon series in Nehemiah looking at 8:1-8. Nehemiah has seen the wall completed, the city being rebuilt, but there is more to his task. The task was not merely external, but the goal has always been to the end of transformation. God transforms us through the preached Word, the good words of God given to the people of God for our good. The Word of God is the power that builds the church. Is it our joy, love, and delight?

The Priority of Mercy - Nehemiah 5:1-13

We continue the sermon series in Nehemiah looking at 5:1-13. In Nehemiah, the rebuilding of the wall seems to be going well, but then an internal conflict arises. The people are failing to take care of their own. They are failing to rebuild their city with a foundation of mercy. We will see how mercy is a foundation to our church and we will be challenged that as Jesus shows us mercy, we now are to show mercy to others.
