We prepare for the Advent Season as we look at the Gospel of Luke’s account of the birth narrative focusing on Luke 1:5-25 this morning. John the Baptist certainly is an interesting figure in the Bible: eating locusts, itchy clothing, preaching brimstone type messages. What can we learn from him? Pursuing Holiness That Comes Through Grace | Nehemiah 10:28-31

In this message, we continue the sermon series in Nehemiah looking at 10:28-31. Holiness is one of those church words that comes with confusion or even baggage. For example, sometimes it (wrongly) is said, "Only the really good people are holy." Such statements leave us feeling guilty because we know that we do not measure up. The text from Nehemiah shows us that holiness is not doing more for God but instead pursuing the holy God who makes us more and more like him.

The Renewal from Confession | Nehemiah 9:16-17

We continue the sermon series in Nehemiah looking at chatper 9 focusing on verses 16-17. The wall was rebuilt and now the people is being rebuilt. The started with the returning to the Word of God and now they are living out the Word of God which calls them to confession. Confession is a humbly act, a turning away from self and to God, knowing that He is a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, who will never forsake His people.
