Colossians 1:15-16 - The Invisible Made Visible at Christmas

In this sermon, Rev. Jon Talley continues with our Advent series. Power in weakness; glory through humility. That is what the Nativity shows us. But it’s not hard to see that the world we live in - even we ourselves - would prefer the power without the weakness, the glory without the humility. In Colossians 1:15-16, Paul teaches us about the power and glory, the authority and rule of Jesus Christ. And yet, because of Christmas, we can separate those things from his weakness and humility. God made flesh, to dwell among us. Rev. Jon Talley is the planter for the east side (Shorewood area) church, Christ Church Milwaukee.

Titus 2:11-15 - God's Grace: Past, Present and Future

In this sermon, Rev. Jon Talley looks at Titus 2:11-15. Many of us can see how God’s grace was at work in our lives in the past: our coming to faith, past circumstances, etc. We also believe that in the future, at some point, Jesus will return and he will make all things right. But what about today, in the here and now? What does God’s grace look like in our lives in the present, on a daily basis? Thankfully, the Apostle Paul gives us an answer in this passage from his letter to Titus.

In this sermon, Rev. Jon Talley brings us to Mark 4:26-29. Jon is presently RUF pastor at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. He has accepted a call to come to Milwaukee’s eastside to plant a church there, completing our search for a teammate to Mike Wenzler (RUF-UWM) and Dan Quakkelaar (Brewer’s Hill-Downtown-Inner City).
