Easter: Brining Your Doubts to Jesus - John 20:24-31

There is much proof of Jesus' resurrection — the empty grave, the hundreds of eyewitnesses, the radically changed lives of the disciples. Yet, sometimes we doubt the resurrection — not so much its history but its power and meaning today. The story of Thomas at Easter reminds us afresh to bring all our doubts to Jesus because Jesus cares for us and leads us to new life beyond the doubt.

John 20:1-18

On this Sunday, we celebrate our risen Savior, Jesus Christ, as we hear from John 20:1-18. The account of the empty tomb and Jesus’ gentle words of acceptance spoken to Mary comforts us. As God the Father raised His Son from the dead, He pours out His affection on us, pursuing us as His children.

1 Timothy 3:16 - The Open Secret of the Resurrected Life

Today we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ as we look at an ancient hymn of the church in 1 Timothy 3:16. At the climax of Paul’s letter, we see the open secret of Jesus’ move from humiliation to exultation, moving from His earthly ministry to His work through the Church. The reason for this great triumph is the resurrection we celebrate every Lord’s Day and each year at Easter.
