Grace Alone - Ephesians 2:1-10

We continue on our five-week series looking at the Five Solas of the Reformation. In light of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation begun by Martin Luther, we will consider these foundational elements, the solas, in which the Church has pronounced that these aspects must stand alone. This morning we examine sola gratia, that it is grace alone, God’s unmerited favor, is the foundation of our salvation. This is well seen in Ephesians 2:1-10 which we will examine this morning.

Ephesians 2:1-10 - Realizing the Need for the Gospel

In this sermon, Rev. Chris Vogel continues our five-week series looking at Cornerstone’s Vision Statement. Through the lens of various Scriptures we will examine what we consider our main calling as a church. This week we will look at Ephesians 2:1-10 where Paul guides us to realize our need for the Gospel. Describing our need, Paul begins with the bad news of our sinfulness followed by the good news of God’s grace. In verses 8-10 we see how we are saved by grace alone through faith alone, all for God’s glory alone to be His masterpiece.
